ADAM PORT

Keinemusik | Souvenir | Liebe*Detail | Rockets and Ponies // Berlin (DE)

Techno?s biggest flaw is its self-referencial tendency. You know the deal, the common
contemporary DJ/Producer steals an Underground Resistance-Record from his older brother
at the age of 16 (biographical details may vary, not to impair the facts, though), thus
presuming to have found the holy grail (what, of course, nobody is claiming to deny).
His world is shrinking down to Detroit, Chicago, New York and Berlin within the following
years, he?ll equip himself with records and turntables and not look over the rim of his MKII
ever again. Adam Ports biography is different. Adam was Hardcore, when he was 16. No, not
Rotterdam-Hardcore. We?re talking New York-, Boston- and Washington D.C.-Hardcore here.
It?s a past that he still lives up to, cultivating it in his vegetarian-straight-edge-lifestyle.
After that there was HipHop. He got in touch with turntablism, discovered his love for vinyl and
evolved to be a skilled DJ for the first time. Then, finally came Techno. This way of tracing
down spaces, giving one the best possible chance of self-development, is the essential
reason for Ports presence being so unique. There?s no scene-dictated tunnel view in his
activities, there is only a pointed emphasis on style, on groove and sophistication. An
emphasis, that, because it?s informed by Dub, Danchall, Rap, Soul or even Psychedelic Rock,
is advanced enough to always shine through the inflationary characteristic of the genre as
notably original. That applies to both, his productions and his DJ-sets.
What Adam Port is laying his hands on might have its place within the parameters of House
and Techno, but it?s always more than that. It?s his style.

ADRIATIQUE

Diynamic Music // Zurich (CH)

Adrian & Adrian, two guys from Zurich started off with music just like everyone
else by trying several instruments and scratching on grandfather’s turntable,
nothing special about that. Both were born in the mid 80’s when the techno
and house community was rising to the top.

90’s dance, hip-hop & house stuff influenced one of them. The other half was
more into melodic sounds and Europe based techno. On the road as solo
artists they met in 2008, found mutual connection with their interpretations and
became dj & production partners.

Harmony between Dj-ing, performance and immediate contact with the people
makes a good to a "better" dj. The self-proclaimed brothers have a sensible
feeling for the Clubheads, dance-a-holics and all the others, for which "music"
means attitude not just a word. They love to mix up different styles to make
their sets intensive, diversified and unique. Almost poetic, comparable with an
exciting story.

Their first Release on OFF Recordings got immediately strong feedbacks from
Toni Rios, Reboot, Ray Okpara, Brother’s Vibe & many more.

Adriatique are also featured on the highly anticipated second Release from
Diynamic’s Sublabel 2DIY4. Their groovy new- interpretation from Feist –
Honey, Honey is considered as one of the summer tracks 2011.
This was their kick-off to be also part of 2DIY4’s motherlabel Diynamic Music.

In addition to their musical-work & busy club-schedule Adriatique have their
monthly based event series „Moving Around Us“ in Zurich which has grown to
a meeting point for international guests, local talent, music & art.

And ME

Keinemusik | Souvenir | Saved // Berlin (DE)

When one could assume, &ME entered the House and Techno world somewhat out of the
blue, it is due to his sublime modesty that?s already captured in his alias. Coming from
Hamburg to Berlin in 2004 his talent was soon recognized by folks like DJ Hell or DJ T. who
hired him as their co-producer.
Besides, he was playing the clubs (national and international) all week every week and
putting his effort in remixes for the likes of Roxy Music, Tiefschwarz or Anthony Rother. But
as soon as he dropped his first solo productions, he finally made himself a name in a quite
unparalleled way. “F.I.R.” – his first release on keinemusik, a collective of Berlin based DJs
and producers, he helped founding in 2009, was a massive clubhit, but in the end not much
more than a foretaste of things to come. Releases and remixes on Front Room, Souvenir,
Rebirth, Liebe*Detail, Saved etc. followed, his reputation as a gifted producer and DJ
extraordinaire spread even more into international realms, and that?s where he stands right
now, as his blend of Techno and soulful Housemusic took incredible shape: Many new
projects in focus and clearly visible as one of the most unique and original figures in the
game.

AND.ID

Mobilee Records - Greece (GRE)

And.Id is mobilee's master of swung beats and live brass, characterising his textured and rhythmic
productions as "body moving, and mind grooving."

Born and bred in Thessaloniki, Greece, Andreas Dimitriadis was raised on jazz. Heavily influenced from
a young age by his musical surroundings – in the audiences of jazz performances, and absorbed in his
father's extensive record collection – he began studying music at the age of 10. He soon applied his
training to a range of artistic outlets, jamming in local bands, producing tracks for freestyle groups and
creating scores for short films.

In 2002, And.Id became involved with NON, the Greek artist's collective responsible for the Reworks
Electronic Music Festival and club nights throughout the country. The following year he received a
highly coveted invitation to the Red Bull Music Academy in Cape Town, and shortly thereafter released
EPs for Thinner Records and Ware. And.Id hit his stride in 2008, with "One Is Not Enough", his
mobilee debut that showcased both intricate production skills, and a unique integration of live
components, the latter of which has lent an inimitable sound to his material.

The critically acclaimed "Sand on the Floor" followed, as did "First Talk" and "I Will Be There", and in
2010 And.Id took his unique amalgam of electronics and live instrumentation to its furthest reaches, with
his ambitious and celebrated installment for mobilee's Back to Back compilation series. Alongside a
disc of curated highlights from the label's catalogue, he formed the And.Id and B.A.N.D. collective –
consisting of Berklee College of Music graduates and seasoned studio musicians – for a second disc
of live jazz interpretations of mobilee classics. Sebo K's anthem "Horizons," Pan-Pot's lush,
piano-led track "Faces," and Anja Schneider's defining collaboration with Sebo K, "Rancho
Relaxo" were all painstakingly re-recorded, arranged, and re-edited by And.Id and B.A.N.D. This
year, as well as a new EP "Psychedelic Love" on mobilee, And.Id had his first release on 2020 Vision
"Need For Chicago", and a track he made with Anja Scheider‚"Imagination", is featured on Heidi's
Jackathon Compilation on Get Physical Music.

And.Id's acclaimed live show integrates both well-loved and unreleased productions, loops, and live
trumpet into a high-energy affair; never delivering the same live set twice, And.Id's performances are
combustions sparked by spontaneity and audience interaction. His one-of-a-kind live show has landed
him extensive tours throughout North and South America, plus spots at world-renowned clubs like
Fabric and Panorama Bar, and international festivals such as Sonar, Nuits Sonores, Synch and
Reworks. Whether it's house or techno, melodic or organic, percussive grooves, or rough and edgy
snares, one thing is certain: And.Id delivers. With future plans to reconceive And.Id and B.A.N.D. for the
live stage and studio, he is on course for further ingenious old-world takes on four-to-the-floor
modernism. Moreover, And.Id's individualized approach is a perfect reflection of the vision, passion, and
love of music that continues to drive the extended mobilee team in all that they do, and all that will
come.

ANJA SCHNEIDER

Mobilee Records - Berlin (DE)

Anja Schneider is the mobilee records founder, broadcaster, internationally renowned DJ and
producer once labeled a "perpetual motion machine", and one of the hardest working individuals
in the business.

From her beginnings in radio to the 'Hi Five' anniversary year of mobilee, her ascension through
the ranks has been fuelled by her strong work ethic, sharp tastemaker instinct, charming
personality and innate musicality. Starting out as a producer for KissFM, Anja became a radio
persona in her own right in 2000 for Fritz Radio. Armed with an engaging presentation style and
impeccable taste, Anja's 'Under the Blue Moon' program – which still airs to this day – resonated
with Berlin's music-loving masses and propelled her forward into a career as a club DJ.

After her first forays into production in 2004, Anja joined forces with Ralf Kollmann to found
mobilee records the following year. Anja's keen ear defined the emergent imprint through its early
releases, unearthing talented newcomers such as Sebo K and Pan-Pot, and paving the way for
her celebrated mobilee debut with Sebo, Rancho Relaxo. Harnessing her unique interest in
collaborative creativity, Anja's list of studio partners has grown to include the likes of Paul
Brtschitsch, Marco Resmann, and Lee Van Dowski. Anja's 2008 opus, her debut album Beyond
the Valley, was released to critical acclaim, with tracks "Belize" and "Safari" dominating Charts
and dancefloors worldwide. She followed this with Deseo, mobilee's 50th release, and a pair of
storming tech house EPs in 2010, iThought and Pushin'. "Imagination", a co-production
between Anja and And.Id, featured on Heidi's Jackathon compilation for Get Physical Music in
early 2011, and the remainder of Anja's year will largely be devoted to her highly anticipated
second album, which is due for release in 2012. Alongside her original work, an extensive list of
remixes for labels such as Dessous, Crosstown Rebels, and Diynamic now line the annals of her
impressive discography.

As a label head Anja has focused not only on discovering fresh talent, but also on cultivating and
developing the mobilee roster, pushing artists to challenge themselves and developing their
careers as DJs and musicians. Under her guidance, mobilee and its sister label Leena Music
have grown into one of Berlin's most-watched staples, with a close-knit collection of producers
and musicians that carve out a distinct sound in a city teeming with electronic music.

Widely regarded as one of the world's most respected DJs, Anja has traveled to almost every
corner of the globe, making her mark at world-renowned clubs such as Fabric, Fuse, Rex, and
Goa Madrid, as well as holding down residencies with Berlin's Weekend and Watergate clubs.

With ears honed through years of experience, Anja's achievements as a producer, DJ and label
head are far from peaking. Her development as a one-of-a-kind artist and businesswoman is just
the start of what we can expect from Anja's evolution, as she builds mobilee into the defining
platform that stands in testament to the vision, passion, and love of music that drives her
extended mobilee team in all that they do, and all that will come.

ANTONELA GIAMPIETRO

24 Bit - Buenos Aires (ARG)

DJ Antonela really stands out with this unique attitude once she stands on the decks and starts spinning her records. The argentinian's charm and beauty transcend into a nearly hypnotic dancing power when, track after track, she builds her sessions mixing melodies, grooves and sensual vocals reflecting all of her her class and finesse. It was no surprise that her posture and quality of her musical taste were noticed by two of the main characters of feminine sensibility in brazilian electronic music: Aninha and Mary Zander.

Passionate for music since a young child under her parents' influences, Antonela's first contact with dance music happened in the 90's in her hometown Buenos Aires. Also, a major person towards the DJ's evolution within the genre was argentinian producer B.O.N.G., introducing her to progressive house and labels such as Bedrock, Get Physical and 2020Vision. In no time Antonela had acquired enough luggage and knowledge to start her career in music. However, even though she mastered the craft, the DJ remained off the booths for three years. According to the DJ herself, during that period she watched and listened to all the artists she could, strictly from the dancefloor – which caused a big impact on her current references and the way she sees music working directly on the crowd.

Today the DJ identifies herself with deep house, deliciously inspired by her own essence, showing great musicality and exceptional groovyness. Investing in labels like Hot Creations, Desolat, Dyinamic and Crosstown Rebels, Antolena is a member of Brazilian agency 24Bit.

ARADO

Moon Harbour Recording - Desolat - Leipzig (DE)

From Desolat over Remote Area to Moon Harbour via Düsseldorf – that’s how Arado’s story
can be described in as few words as possible. At least when you try to reduce it to only the
most important of his releases. The DJ’s story is not even less exciting and, next to German
premium clubs such as Cocoon and Watergate, includes bookings in the world’s places-to-be
such as Space Ibiza including its legendary closing final, Tenax in Italy, Belgium Café
D’Anvers and Moodstock Festival, WMC in Miami as well as appearances for People Like Us
and Bad Boys Club. It’s quite hard to believe that the first page of this young story of success
has just been written in 2009.

Arado is the rare proof that almost everything is possible if only you come up with the track at
the right time. And so with the help of „Uganda Express“ signed by Loco Dice for his Desolat
label, he kick-started into an international career that did not decrease in speed since then.
After following releases on labels such as All Inn and Dame Music this finally led to an EP on
Matthias Tanzmann’s Label Moon Harbour that even took him on board of their booking
squad. Whether in the beginning in partnership with Den Ishu or nowadays in collaboration
with Italian Marco Faraone, Arado simply knows one thing or two about how to rock the Deep
& Tech House Floors worldwide. His raw, driving grooves with an undeniable Chicago impact
seem to enjoy the support of the international DJ elite since the very beginning.

2011 has already prepared new releases on Etruria Beat and Four:Twenty as well as
remixes for artists such as Martinez and Butch. It’s still written in the stars where it will lead
the German Rheinlander, but one thing is already sure: his journey has just begun... so stay
tuned!

ARGENIS BRITO

Cadenza rec - Dame Music - Senor Coconut - Berlin (VE)

A professional musician, trained singer, passionate producer and smart innovator, Argenis Brito is reliably rolling up the lush fields of music for quite a while now. Listeners will be surprised at the wide range of activities he has been involved in to date. Having travelled the path of success in an unconventional way, many music genres and the world anyway, his influences are multifaceted, continuously charging and refreshing his source of inspiration with the scintillating splendour of creative energy.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Argenis Brito began studying piano when he was seven. But soon his career ascended to such Pop music heights a lot of young people of all eras and areas always will be yearning to reach: Already at the young age of 13, he performed music in formation by becoming a singer of a Venezuelan boy group of six, that was very popular in Latin America and the U.S.A. in the early 80es. Still there are even devoted fans today.

Experiencing public enthusiasm at such an early stage of his career could force a musician's hand to keep playing the same level of the game over and over again. In fact, Argenis Brito prefered to open up perspectives on how to utilise the vast playground of musical expression. In retrospect to an exciting commercial adventure, knowing the structures of music business meant to release them to decide for free play instead. That's where the adventuresome part of his music career actually started:

In 1985 Argenis, devoted to Pop and Rock music, formed his first band WAG together with one of his former singing partners, Gustavo Montaño. As a composer, bass player and vocalist he recorded two albums with the group (1986 and 1988), resulting in two successful single releases, massive airplay and concerts all over Venezuela.

From here, the nearest and most obvious station on his mission to broaden music horizons was a move up North to New York City. Initially gaining more musical experience and routine by playing in various session bands, it was definitely coincidence when he finally met a soulmate, namely Chile's most famous Pop star Jorge González, who introduced him to the sonority of electronic music. The collaboration of the two temporary Brooklyn boys created no less than a pioneer work: Gonzalo Martínez and his Thinking Congas transcribed arrangements of some of their favourite Cumbia classics to a unique, customized electronic sound system to provide this popular Latin American dance rhythm with contemporary club vibes. Dandy Jack, Tobias Freund (both from Sieg ueber die Sonne) and Uwe Schmidt (a.k.a. Atom) completed the GM line-up.

After moving to Santiago de Chile in 1998, Argenis continued working with Jorge González by touring Chile and Peru with their new band Los Dioses, featuring Miguel Tapia, former drummer of González' prestigious trio "Los Prisioneros".

Still in Santiago, and while contact was already established, another pioneer venture gathered momentum: Atom's second album under his new studio alias Señor Coconut turned out to be a great success. Consequentially, he decided to accomplish the incarnation from a virtual project to a real, physical band. In a peculiar manner, Coconut interprets classics of Pop and Rock music history Latin-style, shaping them to explosive Merengue and Cha Cha/Mambo versions. Argenis Brito joined the crew as the official singer and front man with a charming stage presence and great entertaining qualities; until today he recorded numerous albums and EPs with the orchestra and was touring Europe, America and Asia large-scale. And the fusion story continues?

The name Argenis Brito is intrinsically tied to the genre of Latinotronics. Not only did the year 2000 mark the beginning of a new millenium, but also a highlight of this seminal style: Founded together with Chilean producer and longtime friend Pier Bucci, Mambotur affected the sensually loaded, dancing body of the crowd with a fresh emotional approach, blending the lively percussive dynamics of Mambo, Cumbia and Salsa with sophisticated electronic progression, and adding a Dub flavour. In doing so, Mambotur were rushing the Trans-Latino-Express through software wonderland, indeed. The duo released two albums, "Atina Latino" (2002), and "Al Frente" (2005), and performed major venues and festivals all over Europe.

Besides, forging new links within the big Chile connection, a trio was formed in between by uniting with Swiss-Chilean producer Luciano who co-produced four tracks for the collective project Monne Automne. In 2002 Argenis Brito relocated to Berlin, his last domicile of creation so far. In the vibrant, atmosphere of this exceptionally prolific metropolis he found the ideal inspiration for pushing the boundaries of club culture. Offering some Latin musical gene exchange, it goes without saying that he quickly aligned with like- and open-minded musicians and producers to participate in several projects - one of them Jay Haze of Contexterrior media. A lot of new visions with a strong leaning towards reduced, cutting-edge, funky club structures were realized: Krak Street Boys (w/J.H.), The Basstards (w/J.H. and Jamming Unit of Air Liquide), Bearback (w/J.H. and Samim), Samim vs. Argenix, and Maluco (w/Pier Bucci and Max Loderbauer of Sun Electric and Chica and the Folder). Since then, Argenis keeps feeding his machines with the finest power and continues performing together with renowned DJs and producers of the global electronic club music network, who are as advanced as himself.

In April 2006 Argenis Brito released his first solo work "Sentidos Opuestos", followed by the double EP "Micro Mundo" and the "Imminent" EP lately. Further releases of all projects he has been involved in, include records on acclaimed platforms as Multicolor Recordings, Lo-Fi Recordings, Crosstown Rebels, Tuning Spork, Disko B, Essay, Cadenza, Karaoke Kalk, among others.

AUDIOFLY

Get Physical - London - Barcelona (GBR)

Although widely regarded as a member of the true A-list of dance music, both in terms of production, DJing and label management, it was a chance meeting led to Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito, an audio engineer/musician and working dj respectively, becoming Audiofly back in 2002.
Middleton was, in typical boffin style, experimenting with live surroundsound while Saporito was acting as in-house music selector at prestigious London store Selfridges but the pair decided to down tools and throw everything at their shared love of house music.
A bold move, but one which immediately began to pay off. The Audiofly name started to crop up regularly in the London scene and beyond via a series of edits, remixes and releases for underground imprints such as Fantastic House
and Deleted.

AVENIR

Descending Order // Palermo (ITA)

AVENIR started his musical journey aged 18 when he stole a Techno Mania tape from a mate.
He first became interested in the electronic music scene in 1996 but in 1990, aged 14, his mum and dad bought him his first set of decks and he did various warm-up sets before the clubs opened their doors.
Avenir is a fighter – joining Chameleon Black Recordings who help distribute his releases and since 2009 has been locked in the studio perfecting his craft and The Avenir Project, from an original idea by Emiliano Pennisi, was formed to create cinematic electronic sounds.
“I use everything I find suitable to music and that makes any type of noise and try and turn it into percussive patterns with a resonant pad. I like to define this sound I’m creating as a ‘Poltergeist Sound.’ This term obviously relates to the idea of ghosts or other abstract entities that express themselves by moving and influencing objects around them"

BEN HOO

Get Physical // London (GB)

Remix Fever Ray, Moby, M.A.N.D.Y vs Booka Shade and Tiga before you've even released a solo single—there aren't too many young producers these days that could lay claim to such a coup. It takes true creative flair to carve out a new career solely by interpreting the work of others, and London's Ben Hoo has done just that. And having now released two solo EP's, 'Marea' and 'Modal', through Get Physical sub-label Kindisch, with a third on the way, Hoo is further establishing his place amongst electronic music's most promising new talents.

Ben's involvement with the genre (somewhat inevitably if you've heard his highly accomplished productions) can be traced back to his early teenage years. Weaned on a diet of soul and disco by his dad and choral and classical music by his mum, Ben began to take note of electronic music's infinite sound and texture possibilities. Artists like Leftfield, Hybrid, Nitin Sawhney and BT formed the backbone of this fascination and it wasn't too long before Ben endeavoured to take this interest to the next level with the purchase of his first synthesizer. Teaching himself the ins and outs of composition, Ben simultaneously maintained his study of piano and drums, eventually bringing together his many musical facets through formal education.

If there is a constant running from Ben's years as a producer it's that he never wedded himself to a single style or genre. Techno and house inform Ben's recorded music as much as down-tempo and contemporary classical. From a production perspective, however, the narrative behind the scenes is one of sound manipulation and design. Ben appears innately drawn towards reconfiguring audio, while juxtaposing these explorations with the creation of his own synthetic tones.

Most artists' ascents are aided by a touch of good fortune at some point in their careers, and in Ben's case receiving a request for a speculative remix of Rex the Dog's "Bubblicious" proved to be pivotal. His version was commissioned, and off the back of its bubbling synth lines and intuitive percussion Ben was asked to turn in further remixes for Fever Ray and Moby. Both of the ensuing productions clearly illustrated that this was a producer who was unwilling to stick to a single formula—over the course of just three remixes Ben had explored glitchy house, smoky down-tempo and epic electronica.

2010 saw Ben tapped by Tiga to rework his massive "Mind Dimension" single—to which Ben obliged with a snarling, breaks infused, minimal remix, which reached the top 5 of Beatport's breaks chart, and was loved so much by the man himself he added it onto the digital release of his album. Ben also delivered a mix of M.A.N.D.Y. Vs Booka Shade's "Donut"—this time a rolling tech-house interpretation. Booka Shade felt Ben's version was strong enough for inclusion on RA.150, their landmark podcast for Resident Advisor. It was this remix which helped ignite his continued relationship with seminal Berlin label Get Physical, with sub-label Kindisch releasing Ben Hoo's debut solo release 'Marea' in 2011, the follow up EP 'Modal' in early 2012 and further remixes commissioned for M.A.N.D.Y vs Adultnapper and Actor One.

Demonstrating his diversity as a producer, Hoo continues to deliver an impressive array of sophisticated electronica. Electronic music pioneer, Moby, is such a fan of Ben's downtempo work, he commissioned him to remix two singles from his latest album 'Destroyed'.

"Ben Hoo effortlessly traverses the boundaries between very well produced, sophisticated sounding electronica and deep, warm, atmospheric techno..."

BON HOMME

Diamond, Sony Music - Copenhagen (DNK)

In a sense, the Danish Tomas Høffding has everything he’s ever wished for in his life. He is happily in love.
He is the singer and bassist of the trio WhoMadeWho, a band that, thanks to their tongue-in-cheek disco
indie-rock and their enthusiastic shows, can always count on the raging applause of their international
crowds. Together with a handful of friends, he owns an old farmer’s house in Sweden, into which he can
retreat after exhausting tours and nerve-wrecking studio sessions.
Despite all of these perfect conditions, until recently, the man from Copenhagen was missing something that
he created and defined on his very own. Something that would make him artistically independent of
WhoMadeWho. Something to which his colleagues Jeppe Kjellberg and Tomas Barfod would, if at all,
contribute nothing more than well-meant tips.

At first, he considered establishing a second living as an electro DJ. He had played in bands all his life and
had always been forced to compromise. At last, he wanted to make decisions according to his own moods.
“Then I realized I wasn’t born to be a DJ. DJ’s have to listen to about 1 billion new tracks every week and
always know what sound is the really hot stuff. As I tend to dive deep into the music I listen to, a DJ career
was not an option”, he reveals smirking.
Instead of mixing other peoples’ tracks, he decided to produce them himself. He wanted to create tracks
which he could present at live solo performances in clubs with a small setup, consisting of a computer,
chimes and a theremin. Tracks you would start moving to on the spot. For the past two years, whenever he
was not touring with WhoMadeWho, he has been working almost non-stop in his new equipped studio. He
experimented with several of his electronic devices and once in a while, he picked up his acoustic guitar. His
spontaneous ideas were transformed into sparkling dance pop. “I wanted to write songs that weren’t
composed in the classical sense. Everything needed to come directly from the heart. This is why the most
stuff on my first solo album was created without any big thoughts”, the Dane, who is always in for a joke,
comments.

Under the pseudonym Bon Homme, he now releases 10 songs. Their electronic tinge is groovy in a subtle
way, and the atmosphere of many songs is carried by the noise of analogue synthesizers. The music lives of
spontaneously created melodies that we, in fact, only know from Krautrockers such as Cluster. He combines
poppy hooks with dry techno rhythms, almost childlike tone sequences meet psychedelic loops, and in the
next moment, it seems like Hot Chip teamed up with Kraftwerk. In the song “Heaviest Flower Of Europe”,
Høffding sings so dandy-like that one might believe that Brian Ferry in person gave him tips for the right tone

Having played alongside countless of innovators and inspirators in clubs, parks and/or tunnels, Boris rose to the occasion time and time again.  With surgical like precision pain stakingly selecting his records and setting the right partyvibe.

Flash forward to 2005; after alot of playing, partying and soulsearching this ruffian made his first steps into producing with partner in crime Lauhaus. They landed their first release in 2007 (Matchmaker / Legeres [Remote Area]) and things really started taking off. Their tracks got licensed for multiple mixcompilations and it defenitely wouldn’t be the last time.

CAMEA

Camea was born and raised in the Seattle music scene as a pianist and lover of all
genres of music. In her youth she studied both classical and jazz theory as well as
dance, and spent a lot of time playing in bands. She focused most of her energy on
the piano and clarinet, but by the time she was eighteen she could also play five
other instruments fluently. Camea was the youngest of 8 cousins, and before she
was even ten years old she was exposed to alternative music like Madonna,
Souxsie and the Banshees and The Cure, although her own first musical love
affairs were with Chopin and Miles Davis. Later in her teens she fell into the Seattle
grunge and rock scenes, but her lifestyle quickly changed when she discovered
house and techno in the late 90s at college. Falling instantly in love, she bought her
first turntables in 1999. After spending a few years following house artists like Mark
Farina and Derrick Carter, she stumbled across a new sound in the local record
store and began to collect labels like Perlon, Playhouse and Minus. This eventually
led her to the artistically thriving city of Brooklyn, NY, where she moved in 2002 with
one record bag and a suitcase, immediately immersing herself in the city’s music
scene. Brooklyn’s intense artistic environment became a magical time for her, as
this is where she discovered a plethora of new music and met Tim Xavier,
Ambivalent, Alexi Delano and Tony Rohr and spawned Clink Recordings, launching
her career as an International DJ by 2005. Soon after her tour schedule became
worldwide, and two years later she relocated to Berlin where she resides today.

Born in Hannover in 1972, Chris grew up surrounded by the sounds of his parent’s disco music. They further
encouraged his ambitions on his sixteenth birthday with a set of Technics 1210’s, unsurprisingly it wasn’t too
long before he started to spin records out and about. In 1990 he managed to organise one the first ever
techno parties in Hannover, which went on to feature the likes of Carl Cox, WestBam, and Ricardo
Villalobos.

Ten years later in the year 2000, Chris decided to take a break and went to reside in Leipzig for a few years
before moving to Berlin and rejoining the music scene in 2004 to host ‘The sound of Berlin’, on one of the
first internet radio stations courtesy of Australia’s Pulse Radio. It was around this time that Chris also started
to produce his own music, 2008 saw his debut release ‘Hypnotoad’ on WBA-Records. A year later, his finest
moment to date surfaced when Einmaleins label owner Eik signed his first EP “Definition” in Feb 2009 with
“Limbo Taxi” following a month on.

A succession of successful remixes and features followed; “Two In One” in the company of Dan Drastic on
Moon Harbours Inhouse Vol. 3, a remix of Pawas ‘s “Mac Dub” on UK label Fear of Flying, not forgetting
“African Children” on Loco Dice’s ‘The Lab’ compilation in April 09. November 2009 saw material on Luna
Records, Fear Of Flying as well as the landmark 50th release on Einmaleins.

The successful EP 'Sick' was released January 2010 on Fear Of Flying which, not only was charted heavily
by artists such as Loco Dice, Matthias Tanzmann, Lauhaus, Gorge and others, but was also entered into the
top 50 of Resident Advisors all-time top 100. This resulted in Moon Harbour asking Chris to join their
impressive roster.

Remixes for Audiofly ''Sweeter Than Remixes'' (alongside Tiefschwarz and Dyed Soundoroum) on
Supernature and Lewis Boardman 'Mist' on NRK followed on in April & May. 2010 looks to be a productive

CHRISTIAN SMITH

Mobilee Records - São Paulo (SWE)

This latest chapter of what has already been a varied and dynamic career comes as no
surprise to those who have followed Christian Smith?s productions over recent years.
Having delivered the crossover record of 2008 - Total Departure on Adam Beyer?s
Drumcode label – Christian followed up with a succession of fresh sounding club bombs
that surfaced on John Digweed?s Bedrock label, Dubfire?s Sci+Tec, the legendary
Renaissance, and Steve Lawler?s ultra cool Viva imprint through 2009. Next came chart-
topping productions such as the Beatport #1 Air Miles track on 100% Pure, the anthemic
remixes of Carl Craig?s seminal At Les which was a mainstay of Beatport?s Top 10 through
summer 2010 and a run of club-smashing tracks like System Of Survival, The Price of
Freedom and Christian?s remixes of classic tracks from Underworld (Dark & Long), Laurent
Garnier?s (Flashback), Funk D?Void (Diabla) and Robotman aka Richie Hawtin (Do Da Doo). Christian Smith has been at the top of his
game as a DJ and producer for over a decade;
but despite enjoying a global reputation as one
of the most evergreen performers in his field,
times have never been quite as good as they
are right now. A steady flow of releases on
high profile labels like Bedrock, 100% Pure,
1605 and his own Tronic imprint have been
supplemented by Christian?s work as one of
the most in-demand remixers within his scene.
Chart-topping reworks of Underworld, Laurent
Garnier, Carl Craig, John Digweed, and
Robotman (aka Richie Hawtin) have exposed
Christian to a whole new generation of fans
who are discovering Christian?s blend of high
impact tech house and techno for the first time.

The end result has been the successful transformation of Christian from a member of the
old school techno elite to one of the lead players in the current marketplace with an almost
non-stop presence in the upper end of the Beatport sales charts - an achievement
recognised by the award of 3rd place in Beatport?s 2010 "Best Techno Producer" poll. The
popularity of Christian?s big-room, crossover sound with its melodic, euphoric highs and
rhythmical funk energy is testament to the multi-genre draw of Christian?s music. This
breadth of appeal is evident in both the DJ support Christian receives and also in the gigs
Christian plays. Regular supporters ranging from techno stalwarts like Richie Hawtin and
Adam Beyer through to tech house DJs like 2000 And One Stephan Bodzin and even
trance superstars like Tiesto and Sander Van Doorn. In the last twelve months Christian?s
has played some of the biggest festivals and events in the clubbing calendar including
Sensation White, Chile; Klubbers Day, Madrid, Lovelands, Amsterdam and SW4 Festival,
London as well as making regular stops at Space, Ibiza and Miami; Pacha, Buenos Aires;
Womb and Ageha, Tokyo, Watergate, Berlin; Cocoon, Frankfurt, Circus Montreal, Cat &
Dog, Tel Aviv, Macumba, Madrid; The Loft Barcelona and Café D?Anvers, Antwerp. Proof, if
it was needed, that it is possible for an already successful producer to reinvent their sound
while maintaining their relevance and position at the very pinnacle of electronic music.

CRISTIAN VIVIANO

Descending Order -Ibiza (ES)

Self-taught musician (keyboards & caisa drum), Dj and Producer, Cristian Viviano (born in Palermo in 1987), can definitely be qualified as a polyhedric and inspired artist. Listening to his sets, which are involving and full of positive vibes, it is impossible not to notice the strong sense of empathy he feels with the audience.
His passion for music was born in the streets under the influence of funky culture. His personal discovery of musical technology led him towards a strongly tribal influenced, techno and deep house rhythm, which he achieves by using sequencers, synthesizers and drum machines. From 2000 to 2006 he was dj resident of the Religion, playing with artists as Little Louie Vega, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Frankie Knuckels, Timo Maas & others important names of the international house music scene. Since 2000, Cristian has played in many well known clubs and parties around Italy and Europe such as: Peter Pan, Fluid, Le Plaisir, in Europe as Public Life, Egg in London, Pacha Ibiza, Vanilla Ninja club in Moscow. His style, characterized by continuous research, is evident in his many releases. From "A Vucciria" on Mazoom Lab, "Sicilian Pride" on Climatic Sound (productions that honors his Sicilian roots), to "Fatima's bed" on Cocolino, the constant evolution of his style can be seen clearly. Viviano also stands out for his remixes such as "Let Go" by Paul Van Dyk (Vandit) and "Green Girl FNK" by Evans & Waterfall (Tenax Recordings). In 2009, he was awarded the "Trend Award" Top Italian Dj Young. In this years, he began cooperating with well known labels such as Climatic Sound, Fventi, Isgud, Cocolino, Tenax. His work is supported by artists such as Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Sis, Danny Tenaglia, Matthias Tanzmann, Marco Carola and many others...

Currently, Cristian is working on the creation of his new project, Descending Order aimed at spreading the importance and power of love, creativity and the respect to the life's order as core values of life. Also he is a member of COCOLINO project created by SIS. They started collaborating in Ibiza after finding common points of view based on respect of good music.

DAN CURTIN

Mobilee Records - Berlin (DE)

Music is the Lifeblood of Dan Curtin. From his beginnings in early 1990s Cleveland, Ohio, to
current day Berlin, Germany, the pioneering DJ and producer continues to defy conventions and
push boundaries as an integral member of the mobilee records crew.

Taking original inspiration from the early eras of techno and electro, Curtin has experimented with
a vast number of styles, producing innovative stateside sounds of every variety. His fascination
with electronic music was sparked a decade earlier as he discovered the burgeoning hip-hop
movement, along with new wave, electro, and other sonic innovations of the 1980s. Further
futuristic explorations of house and techno prompted Curtin's own studio-based experimentations,
which soon became his primary focus.

Curtin's impressive discography dates back to 1992, with his first releases for Detroit's 33RPM
Records and Belgium's Buzz Records. He soon inked his own production hub, Metamorphic
Recordings, which remains actively committed to quality techno and electronica to this day.
Curtin's unwillingness to restrict himself to a singular style has been instrumental to releases such
as his albums Silicon Dawn, Web Of Life and Art & Science on Peacefrog Records, and for
influential imprints such as Strictly Rhythm and Sublime.
In 2003 Curtin shifted towards a funkier production sound, and his creative instincts urged him
towards the fast-paced electronic music scene of Berlin. This relocation triggered a string of well-
received releases for Tuning Spork, Klang Elektronik and Soma, followed by Pull Up, Dan's debut
for Berlin imprint Leena. The release marked a new chapter in Dan's musical career, as he
followed it with the trio of Other, Beat Fiend and Mr. Bean Do An E for Leena's sister label
mobilee records. The mobilee association was cemented with the release of Lifeblood in 2010, a
full-length opus that is as much a testament to techno's expressive potential, as it is to Curtin's
mastery of the form.

Over 70 singles, 9 albums and 20 years later, Dan Curtin is as innovative and vital as he has ever
been. All the while, he has cemented his international reputation as a DJ, appearing at many of
the world's best clubs, and ever aware of the vital give-and-take relationship between the DJ and
the dancefloor.

Dan Curtin is undoubtedly one of the key players in the development of electronic music as we
know it today, and now alongside mobilee, his vision, passion, and love of music will continues to
drive him in all that he does and all that will come.
